Welcome!

Welcome to the blog for the Heritage Church of Christ Weight Loss Game. This is a motivational game that both supports and rewards its' members for stepping up to the plate and changing their lives! The first weigh-in is Wednesday, June 20 immediately following services. The only requirements for this weigh-in is to show up and be ready to start on the road to getting more healthy! The first commitment time frame is 10 weeks. We begin tomorrow and the last weigh-in for the summer is on August 22, 2007. We will then start a new session for the fall.

This blog will be used to post recipes, announce weekly winners, for motivation and any other reason we can dream up.

Good luck! We can do it!!

Hope I'm invited to the party - Jennifer gave me this site. ;)

So my fav carboholic low fat snack is home made biscotti. This recipe makes 24 biscotti.

3 eggs
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla (or fav. extract)
1/2 tsp. each: salt, baking soda, baking powder
3 c. flour
1/2-1 c. optional add-ins (it's good to do 1/2 c. dry fruit and 1/2 c. nuts)

Mix together eggs, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. Add the 1/2 tbsp ingredients. Add the add-ins (pistacios, rasins, cranberry, almonds, blueberries, dark chocolate chips, etc.) Mix well. Add 1 cup of flour - mix well. Add another cup of flour - mix well. Add 1/2 c. flour - mix well. Put remaining 1/2 c. flour on the counter and kneed the dough into it until you can form a log. Form the log and bake at 350* for 25 minutes. Let it get cool enough to handle. Cut into 24 slices. Bake the slices at 325* for 7 minutes. Then flip and do another 7 minutes. If you must have chocolate, melt it and drizzle so you get the taste without as much fat.

I'll try to bring some samples tomorrow. I sell them at Tyson's work so I'll make a few extra tonight.

Check out this site:

200 Calories

Of course, instead of inspiring me, it just made me hungry for Hershey's Kisses and Doritos!
